Heather Baxter

Heather Baxter IMS, B.Sc.PT (Hons), M.S.O.M., CAFCI

Vancouver Acupuncturist & Physiotherapist

Heather passed away peacefully on November 18, 2019.

She was a vital and caring part of our team and will be dearly missed.

Heather has been practicing at Dunbar Physio since 2004 after moving from Northern Ireland where she graduated in 1997.

Heather’s treatment uses an integrated approach involving education, manual physiotherapy and appropriate exercises to address the root cause of the individual’s symptoms and movement dysfunction.

She enjoys working with both acute and chronic issues and has had excellent results in the use of acupuncture to treat inflammatory conditions.

Heather values the importance of forming supportive relationships with her clients to empower them to achieve a pain-free state of optimal strength and movement patterning.

Heather enjoys treating a wide-range of musculoskeletal conditions but is particularly interested in the cervical spine, lumbar spine, ankle, knee and shoulder joints and her sports focus is on runners and swimmers.

Heather wants her patients to feel they have been listened to and that their physiotherapist has an in-depth understanding of their injury & symptoms. It is important to her that they leave with a thorough explanation of their presenting issue and they feel empowered to work with Heather during the treatment sessions to create long-term healing.

“What Excites You?”

“Professionally, making a significant difference in people’s lives…being able to remove pain and improve strength & movement so people can experience a better quality of life; being able to share my knowledge and expertise so people can be better educated to help themselves immediately and in the long-term; being able to do all this and reduce recurrence rates”

“Personally, I love to run, hike, ski, bike, camp and spend time with family and friends.”

“I have been seeing Heather Baxter at Dunbar Physio for many years now.  She has helped me with varied issues over the years; sprains, breaks, pulls and everything else in between.  Whether it has been rehab from an injury or just maintenance for chronic problems, Heather has always been professional, pleasant and exceptionally willing to find a solution.” – Susan S

“I made an appointment at Dunbar Physio and was assigned Heather Baxter as my physiotherapist.

I have made great improvement while under the care of Heather.

All the staff are helpful, friendly and professional, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have Heather Baxter as my physio.” – Alexander M.
