Marianna is a graduate from Utopia Academy in Vancouver, where she completed the 3000-hour Massage and Hydrotherapy RMT program in 2011.
Her training included over 550 hours or clinical experience. She has participated in numerous outreach programs, providing massage in rehabilitation and hospital facilities for pre- and postnatal women, the elderly and people with special needs.
Marianna likes to take an individual approach in her treatments, and her focus is to find the right balance in addressing both her patient’s needs and wants. She sees herself as a health care professional who strives to guide her clients towards a happier and pain-free lifestyle, directly through the application of massage therapy and indirectly by encouraging and educating them on how to improve their health and wellness on a daily basis.
Marianna utilizes techniques such as osteopathic approach, visceral manipulation, trigger point release, joint mobilizations and manual lymph drainage. She also believes in the body’s natural healing abilities and facilitates this process by incorporating myofascial release and cranio-sacral therapy in her treatments.
Marianna’s previous position at a Vancouver physiotherapy and sports clinic for the last 4 years gave her extremely valuable experience in dealing with a variety of systemic conditions and orthopedic dysfunctions. Furthermore, it provided opportunities to sharpen her professional skills in critical thinking and accommodating patients’ needs to appropriately assist and initiate healing processes in the body.
Outside of massage therapy activity Marianna also invests in educational and teaching avenues and delivers lectures, classes and workshops integrating knowledge and experience from practicing Taoist, Tibetan Buddhism and Sufi disciples and traditions.
