Born and raised on Vancouver Island, sports and the outdoors have always been integral to my life. I have grown up skiing and hiking the local mountains. My work optimizing health and well-being, cycling, running, fashion (shoes!!!) and travelling, inspires me. Having dealt with multiple injuries while completing running, hiking and cycling events around the world, I know how difficult the road to recovery can be. I have both the personal and professional experience to get individuals back to living their best lives, and to doing what they love.
I have an advanced diploma in manual therapy, and am a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). I was also a certified trainer for the Canadian Navy.
My vision is to make excellent rehabilitation accessible to everyone. I am passionate about collaboration on various platforms: from building community through shared forums and weekly/monthly discussion groups between healthcare specialities, to consulting with tech wearable companies. I believe that collaboration, education and technology can bridge the gap between standard and optimal healthcare.
I strive to empower individuals with the education and tools they need to recover from injury and maximize performance, based on their goals and needs. I enjoy working with all sectors of the population, from the general public, athletes and corporate health.
I use education, manual therapy, soft tissue release, dry needling (intramuscular stimulation/IMS) and exercise, to achieve personal goals and expectations

“Renata is amazing. Her careful manipulations during our sessions have the immediate impact of a reduction of any discomfort I may have. I always leave the session feeling much better than when I arrive. Her recommended exercise program to improve my core-strength and flexibility has also made a huge effect in reducing the likelihood and severity of events. She has made a real difference in my quality-of-life.” – John S.
“Fourteen months ago my stopped car was rear ended at high speed, causing a great deal of tissue damage…Renata Szado used Intra Muscular Stimulation (needles) and exercise to treat these problems…the relief afterward was so dramatic…I have been pretty darned diligent about doing the prescribed exercises, and realize that without Renata and her exercises, I could easily have been a basket-case for life.” – Lorna B.
“I have seen several physiotherapists for my chronic back pain over the last 20 years. Renata S. solved my problem! Thanks Renata.” – Cynthia I.
